Sarah Wolcott began serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Wellness and Head Soccer Coach in the spring of 2013, and now has been promoted to Associate Director of Athletics and the Compliance Director.
Over her tenure at Cedar Crest, the Falcons have seen steady improvement with Wolcott at the helm. The 2018 season boasted the best season record (12-3) and conference record (7-1) the team has seen since the 2017 season of (8-9). The 2018 squad clinched a Conference Playoff spot, a first-round bye and hosted their first-ever Playoff game in program history. Advancing on Penalty Kicks in the Semifinals, the Falcons went to their first-ever Conference Championship Game, finishing as the Runner up, but that did not end their season. Cedar Crest earned a ECAC Bid for another first in program history, where the Falcons fell in the first round.
During this season, her team set four new school records, with 46 goals, 2.56 goals-per-game, 118 total points and 6.55 points-per-game. This squad also had the highest win percentage (.471) since 2004 as well.
Before coming to Cedar Crest, Wolcott worked as a personal trainer at the Olean YMCA in Olean, New York from 2009-2013. There she devised workout plans for individuals and groups, and helped to create the wellness center’s Fat Loss Lifestyle Program. Wolcott served as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in Bradford, Pennsylvania from 2010-2013 where she served from 2010-2013, she created the strength and conditioning programs. Wolcott also served as the Technical Advisor for the Southern Tier Sting Futbol Club in Western New York from 2012-2013.
Wolcott is an SCW cerrtfied personal trainer, and holds certifications from the YMCA for Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Strength and Conditioning, and Group Exercise. She is also a certified Livestrong Indoor Cycling Instructor.
Before starting her coaching career, Wolcott played four years of soccer at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University. A defender, Wolcott started 70 of the 72 games in which she appeared. In her senior campaign, she was named the St. Bonaventure Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year, and was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Scholar All-East Region team her junior year. Wolcott was an NCAA Academic All-American nominee and was named to the Lowe’s Senior Class Award watch list.
Wolcott played in the Women’s Premier Soccer League in 2010, serving as the co-captain of the Maine Tide.
She holds a National ‘C' Coaching License and a NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma from the United States Soccer Federation. Wolcott has coached several club teams and worked with many clinics, camps, and individuals in the Northeast, including Lehigh Valley United FC, serving in both assistant and head coaching positions.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy/Pre-law from St. Bonaventure University in 2010, graduating with Cum Laude honors. She also earned a minor in business and nonviolent studies. She earned her Master’s Degree in Sport’s Leadership in 2013 from Northeastern University.
Wolcott currently resides in Allentown, Pa. with her dog, Stella and cat, Sloane.
