Coach Asha Jones was hired in June of 2014. Jones comes to Cedar Crest after graduating from Chestnut Hill College, where she played point guard and shooting guard for three seasons for the Griffins.
Prior to coming to Cedar Crest, Jones served as an assistant coach at Paul M. Hodgson Vocational High School in New Castle, Delaware, who is coached by her father and Head Coach Chris Jones. Under his direction, she was responsible for preparing student-athletes for the college level through skill and personal development. As a player at Hodgson, Jones earned four years of Blue Hen Flight “B” All-Conference honors and was Honorable Mention on the Delaware All State Team in her senior season.
“Having played this game since she was five, trained with and played for her dad, Asha brings a great understanding of the game to our program,” expressed Falcon Head Coach, Ty Taylor, “in addition to her being an NCAA Division II scholarship student-athlete.
At Cedar Crest, Jones is responsible for perimeter player development, scouting and recruiting.
