Hot Off a Win, Falcons Tie at Rosemont

10/1/2011 12:28:00 PM

Rosemont, PA – While a tie in any competitive endeavor may seem like kissing your sister, a scoreless tie has to be even worse. On the bright side, although the opportunity was there, Cedar Crest can still say they are unbeaten in their last two games after a 0-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference game at Rosemont College on Saturday.

Despite having as many or more shots on goal in each of the four periods (two halves and two overtimes), The Falcons were unable to get even one past Raven goalie Gina Donnelly, who had 13 saves in 110:00 in goal. Cedar Crest senior Jennie Huber (Palmerton, PA, Pleasant Valley) and freshman Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area) Kim Barry (Canadensis, PA, Wallenpaupack Area) had three shots each, but all were turned away by Donnelly. Not to be outdone, Cedar Crest freshman goalie Krysten Gillan (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade) absorbed all eight shots sent towards her, ultimately resulting in the 0-0 final.

Overall, Cedar Crest is now 1-5-2 and is 0-3-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Rosemont is now 3-4-1 and 2-2-1 in the CSAC. The Falcons will attempt to extend their unbeaten streak to three at Penn State Berks on Tuesday, October 4th, at 4:00 PM.
