Radnor, PA - As expected, coming off a loss on Saturday to last year's Colonial States Athletic Conference runners-up, things did not get any easier for Cedar Crest as the Falcons traveled to CSAC powerhouse Cabrini College on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers are the defending conference champions, and look likely to repeat that title this season as well.
Beyond just talent, if there's one clear advantage Cabrini enjoys, it's depth; the Cavs played 27 players en route to their 7-1 victory. Lindsey Atzert was the clear star for the hosts, with three goals on four shots in the first half alone. Resting on a halftime score of 5-0, Cabrini subbed liberally in the second half and scored twice more, but the Falcons avoided the shutout when Cedar Crest sophomore Erin Studer (Kent, CT, Housatonic Valley Regional) was able to poke in a loose ball in front of the cage late in the game.
With the loss, Cedar Crest drops to 1-11 overall and is 1-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Cabrini improves to 8-4 and 3-1 in the CSAC. Next up, Cedar Crest will host Immaculata University at home in a CSAC matchup on Saturday, October 15th, at 1:00 PM.
