Baltimore, MD – On the road in Colonial States Athletic Conference soccer action on Sunday afternoon, Notre Dame of Maryland University downed Cedar Crest 5-0.
Coming off a close game on Saturday, fatigue may have been a factor for the Falcons as the Gators outplayed the visitors on all fronts. Notre Dame took the early lead on a Kelsey Kempf goal at 6:09, scored another less than ten minutes later, then took a 3-0 halftime lead when Kempf tallied her second less than two minutes before halftime.
Kempf ended with a hat trick when she notched her third goal early in the second period, then the Gators added one for good measure midway through the half to extend their lead to 5-0.
The Falcons were outshot by a wide margin and managed only one corner kick. Cedar Crest freshman Krysten Gillan had 12 saves for the Falcons.
Cedar Crest is now 1-12-2 overall and 0-8-1 in the CSAC. Notre Dame is now 6-9 and 4-6 in the CSAC. The Falcons return home for a CSAC matchup with Baptist Bible College on Tuesday, October 25th, at 4:00 PM.
