Allentown, PA – The Cedar Crest soccer team's 2011 Senior Day might not have featured a dramatic come-from-behind victory or a SportsCenter-worthy bicycle kick goal, but it will certainly be just as memorable for those involved.

The final game of the season, the sendoff for seniors Tatiana Ballreich (Huntingdon, PA/Huntingdon Area) and Jennie Huber (Palmerton, PA/Pleasant Valley), just happened to coincide with the freak autumn snowstorm that dumped a record-setting ten-plus inches of snow on the region. Both Cedar Crest and visiting Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Centenary College endured near-whiteout conditions that at times must have seemed like more of a foe than did each other.

But the Cyclones made the best of a bad situation, scoring early and often. Arielle Hamilton scored almost immediately and Sara Smith added three quick consecutive goals for a 4-0 lead before the first half was midway through. The Falcons found it difficult to get shots off, which was unfortunate since the sloppy conditions definitely hampered the goalkeepers.

Centenary's Brittany Overland then scored twice before Arielle Hamilton bookended the half with her second goal to give the visitors a 7-0 halftime lead. That would be all the scoring though, as the snow continued to accumulate during halftime to create near-comical conditions for the start of the second half. After a few ill-fated trips up and down the field, the game was called due to safety concerns at the 70:00 mark.

The Cylcones outshot the Falcons, but Cedar Crest had a 2-0 edge in corner kicks. Falcon keeper Krysten Gillan (Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) had 8 saves.

The Falcons finish the season 1-14-2 overall and 0-10-1 in the CSAC, while Centenary improves to 10-5-2 and 8-2-1 in the Conference.
