La Plume, PA - On Saturday, playing at an indoor facility in the Scranton area due to weather concerns and field conditions, the Giants of Keystone College made short work of the Falcons in a 9-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference game.
Keystone scored just twice in the first half, so entering the break the Falcons faced a still-manageable 2-0 deficit. But that deficit quickly became insurmountable, as the Giants' Kelsey Drozda scored the next three consecutive goals early in the second half before Cedar Crest junior Lauren Salge (Robbinsville, NJ, Allentown) scored once to stop the bleeding and avoid the shutout. Not content with a 5-1 lead, Keystone went on to score four more goals in the final ten minutes of play to record the 9-1 win.
With the loss, Cedar Crest drops to 0-5 overall on the season and opens 0-1 in the conference. Keystone improves to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC. The Falcons return home to host Arcadia University on Monday, September 26th, at 4:00 PM.
