Scranton, PA - On Tuesday, Cedar Crest traveled north to face Marywood University, unbeaten in the CSAC, but could do little to dent the armor of the invincible Pacers. The Falcons lost by a score of 8-0.
Marywood scored four goals in each half, and Cedar Crest could not record a single shot. There was incentive for such intensity; with the win, the Pacers clinched the top seed and homefield advantage in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs.
Marywood scored in just the second minute of play, and again in the fourth, eighth, and 24th. The Pacers took a 4-0 score into the break, and sprinkled four more goals throughout the second half, scoring as late as the 76th minute en route to the 8-0 final.
Cedar Crest had no shots to Marywood's 24.
Daniella Mendez (Cedar Grove, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy) had eight saves.
With just one game remaining, Cedar Crest drops to 5-13-1 overall and 2-8 in the conference. Marywood improves to 9-7-1 and 9-0-1 in the CSAC. The Falcons' final game of the season will be at Cabrini on Saturday, October 25th, at 12:00 PM.
