Gwynedd Valley, PA - Cedar Crest struggled on the road at Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday, losing 5-0.

The Griffins scored first in the 12th minute, but the Falcons produced a brief offensive flurry around the 15:00 mark in an unsuccesful attempt to tie it up. Unfortunately, that would be all the offense Cedar Crest could generate in the opening half, and with a second goal a few minutes later Gwynedd-Mercy took a 2-0 halftime lead.

Similarly, the Falcons had another brief series of shots and penaly corners early in the second half but again came up empty, after which the Griffins added a demoralizing third goal which essentially put the game out of reach. Cedar Crest soldiered on, but with little intensity. Gwynedd-Mercy added two goals in the final two minutes for good measure, and ultimately outshot the Falcons 18-5.

Senior goalie Lindsay Harrison (Hanover, PA/Littlestown) had 13 saves in a full game.

The Falcons drop to 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC. The Griffins improve to 9-3 and 2-1 in the conference. Cedar Crest will look to get back on track against CSAC opponent Cabrini College on Tuesday, October 9th, at home at 4:00 PM.
