Box Score Season Stats
Allentown, PA - After four consecutive scoreless losses to start the season, even the most optimistic fan would have been hard-pressed to envision Cedar Crest rattling off four consecutive wins over the next four games. But that's exactly what came to pass on Thursday when the Falcons defeated Keystone College at home by the score of 1-0.
The victory was the first conference win of coach Nicole Pietrobon's career.
To anyone following Cedar Crest this year, it should come as no surprise that the lone goal was scored in the 31st minute by freshman
Courtney Long (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh), who drove straight to the goal from the midfield on a feed from
Samantha Huey (Nutley, NJ/Nutley). Long had all four of the Falcons' shots on goal. The Giants had six shots on goal, all of which were turned back by goalie
Daniella Mendez (Cedar Grove, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy).
With the victory, Cedar Crest evens their record at 4-4 and opens conference play at 1-0. Keystone drops to 2-5 and 0-2 in the CSAC. The Falcons will attempt to establish a CSAC winning streak when they play at Immaculata University on Saturday, September 22nd, at 4:00 PM.
