Center Valley, PA - On a rainy afternoon at your alma mater, one might expect a little more hospitality than a lopsided 8-0 defeat at the hands of your hosts. Such a thought must have crossed the mind of Cedar Crest soccer coach and former DeSales Bulldog Nicole Pietrobon on Wednesday as she stalked the sideline of the field she once called home.

The game at DeSales was a mirror image of the Falcons' earlier efforts this season - flashes of great potential but an inability to generate any offense. The deeper Bulldogs subbed with abandon and wore Cedar Crest down quickly. They scored about every five minutes in the first half until the score was 5-0 with over 16:00 still to go until half time, then added three more early in the second half.

Cedar Crest Freshman Courtney Long (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) had a shot on goal, but DeSales had 17. Daniella Mendez (Cedar Grove, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy) had nine saves.

The Falcons fall to 0-3 and are 0-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. DeSales is now 2-0-1. Cedar Crest returns home for a game against Pennsylvania College of Technology on Saturday, September 8th, at 1:00 PM.
