Box Score Allentown, PA

The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team played on their home field against the Pacers of Marywood University. With a lively crowd to cheer the team on, the Falcons played a tough first half, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pacers who would take the win 1-8 from the Falcons.

The Pacers were the first to score in the 2nd minute of the game, but the Falcons answered back with an impressive goal from Sophomore Forward Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), tying up the game at 8:36. Falcon's Head Coach Cindy Joseph described Rodenberger's goal as a "bullet of a shot" from the top of the circle. The Pacers would score two more points against the Falcons, finishing the first half 1-3 in favor of the Pacers. A breakdown from the Falcons in the second half of regulation play would end up in a loss to the Pacers as they scored five more goals.

Sophomore Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Brendlinger (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) had an amazing game with many noteworthy saves.  Coach Joseph commented that Brendlinger "played a great game. Her decision making was spot on and she was very aggressive." Brendlinger totaled 27 saves by the game's end.

The Falcons fall 0-3 in conference and 0-13 overall while the Marywood University Pacers improve 3-11 overall. Up next, the Falcons will battle the Griffins of Gwynedd-Mercy College on their home field on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00pm.
