Brendlinger Saves 20 + in Loss

The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team played on their home field against the Pacers of Marywood University. With a lively crowd to cheer the team on, the Falcons played a tough first half, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pacers who would take the win 1-8 from the Falcons.

The Pacers were the first to score in the 2^nd minute of the game, but the Falcons answered back with an impressive goal from Sophomore Forward Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), tying up the game at 8:36. Falcon's Head Coach Cindy Joseph described Rodenberger's goal as a "bullet of a shot" from the top of the circle. The Pacers would score two more points against the Falcons, finishing the first half 1-3 in favor of the Pacers. A breakdown from the Falcons in the second half of regulation play would end up in a loss to the Pacers as they scored five more goals.

Sophomore Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Brendlinger (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) had an amazing game with many noteworthy saves. Coach Joseph commented that Brendlinger "played a great game. Her decision making was spot on and she was very aggressive." Brendlinger totaled 27 saves by the game's end.

The Falcons fall 0-3 in conference and 0-13 overall while the Marywood University Pacers improve 3-11 overall. Up next, the Falcons will battle the Griffins of Gwynedd-Mercy College on their home field on Saturday, October 19^th at 1:00pm.
