The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team traveled to Notre Dame University in Baltimore, MD for their 6th conference game. The Falcons played with skill and confidence against the Gators to secure a win in overtime 5-4.

Communication was key during the first half of the game as the Falcons played as a united offensive front, which they have been working on all season long. The Falcons would be the first to score against the Gators at 8:40 on a penalty corner in the first half by Jessica Sanbeg (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley), assisted by Vivianna Samite (Oakridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp.). The Falcons would gain another penalty corner chance at 19:22 which Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) ripped a shot from Rachel Stump (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood) to score once again. The Gators would score two times in the last 15 minutes of the first half, as both teams were tied 2-2 at halftime.

The second half would put nail biting pressure on the Falcons to win when the Gators scored again breaking the tie game. Senior Erin Studer (Kent, CT/Housatonic Valley Regional) would find the back of the cage at 46:56 assisted by Rodenberger, keeping the game tied 3-3. Another goal by the Gators slipped past the Falcon defensive line to give the Gators a lead. Studer would answer back by scoring against the Gator's goaltender, assisted by Sanbeg. After a slew of offensive penalty corner chances in the last 10 minutes of the game, the Falcons were unable to score again before the end of regulation play. Both teams would go into a 7 vs. 7 overtime to break the 4-4 tie.

In a heart pounding overtime, Rodenberger scored unassisted against the Gators securing a conference win for the Falcons. Goaltender Kaitlin Bredlinger would have 9 saves by the game's end and freshman defender Selena Contreras (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) had one defensive save.

The Falcons improve 1-5 in the CSAC, 1-16 overall while the Gators drop 0-9 overall. Up next, the Falcons will play on their home field for their conference matchup against Neumann University on Wednesday, October 30th at 4:00pm.
