Allentown, PA-

Looking to win their first conference game for the season, the Cedar Crest Falcons hosted the Centenary College Cyclones Thursday afternoon at the Cedar Crest Field.
The Cyclones would open up the game by scoring early in the 4th and 15th minute of the game. Their celebrations were short lived, as the leading scorer for the Falcons, Courtney Long (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) tallied her 11th goal for the season in the 18th minute. Unfortunately the lead was extended when the Cyclones attack was able to slip by the Falcons and score shortly after Long's goal. The Cyclone's would notch three more goals before the end of the first half. Long ended the half with three shots, and Kristina Brandveen (Williamsburg,VA/Warhill High School) with four saves.
After the halftime break, The Falcons came out with their heads high and ready for a battle. This half would be a lot more promising for the Falcons, as they maintained more possession than in the first half  and had more shots. Unfortunately the Cyclones slotted three more in the 50th, 60th, and 88th minute to end the game.
After the game coach Sarah Wolcott said "Today was a tough match, we unfortunately got outworked in the first forty-five minutes and even with the hard work we put in the second we couldn't climb out of the hole we had put ourselves in. We did come out strong after the half and we possessed the ball better and generated more opportunities.  We were happy to see standout performances from Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool) and Brittney Billmeyer (Danville, PA/Columbia County Christian).  Once we put together a collective effort for ninety minutes we'll find success.  We have to take the positives and look forward to our Rosemont game this weekend."
The game would end at 8-1 in favor of the Cyclones. The Falcons fall to a 2-8-0 overall 0-3-0 in the CSAC and will take to the road for their next game as they travel to Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pa Saturday the 5th October at 4 pm.
