In the home opener of the 2013-2014 Cedar Crest College Basketball season, the Falcons would welcome the Screaming Eagles of St. Elizabeth to Lees Gymnasium in Allentown, PA.

The Falcons would battle back and forth with the Eagles most of the first half, and would lead for the early part of the game.  The Eagles however, were led by Ashley Pledger's nine points and Kelly O'dell's eight.  For the Falcons in the first half, Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool) would score eight and grab five boards while Shaquira McCottry (Philadelphia, PA/Girard College) would score two and grab four boards.

The second half the Falcons came to life.  Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr), who had been quiet most of the game would score nine for the Falcons in the final 30 minutes while Lewis would add eight more to push her game total to 16.  Junior DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) and Freshman Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would each tally five a piece in the second half as the Falcons outscored the Eagles 38-31. 

The rally would fall short for the Falcons as they would drop their home opener 71-53.  The Falcons now sit at 1-2 overall and will host the Hilton Garden Inn Tournament this weekend starting at 3 PM on Saturday in the Lees GYmnasium.  A complete schedule of games and events will be announced later this week.
