Looking to end the 2014-2015 season on a high note, the Cedar Crest College Basketball team took to the road to battle non-conference opponent, Valley Forge University. Â The Falcons, entering today's contest sat at 5-19 overall while the Patriots sat at 4-18.
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) and
Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool) would lead the Falcons one last time as both would be playing in their final game as members of the Cedar Crest College Basketball team. Â The two would combine for 16 first half points, and seven first half rebounds, pacing the Falcons to a 29-26 lead going into the half. Â As a team the Falcons would grab 27 total rebounds and finish the half shooting 33 percent from the floor. Â Freshman
Miranda Schaeffer (Newport, PA/Newport) would finish with five first half points while
Denyell Spingola (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray) would add four and guards
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) and
Victoria Eppright (Drexel Hill, PA/Delaware County Christian) would both add two to round out the first half scoring.
In the second half, the story would be very similar as Lewis would once again collect eight first half points and six second half rebounds. Â Osley would add seven and Schaeffer and Spingola would each contribute four in the 29 point showing of the second half for the Falcons.
For the game, the Falcons would collect nearly half of their points in the paint, totaling 28 total, and adding 13 points off of turnovers. Â The bench would once again step up in a big way for the Falcons, adding 14 points in route to the 58-41 win for the Falcons to close out the 2014-2015 season. Â The Falcons finish the season 6-19 overall and 4-12 in the CSAC.
