Box Score BETHANY, W. Va.---The Cedar Crest College field hockey team had a slight set back due to their opponent, Randolph-Macon, running late. The Falcons ultimately ended in a 10-0 loss in the last game of the Bethany College Tournament late Saturday afternoon.
"I'm proud of the way the ladies played and pushed throught hte heat this weekend," commented Head Coach
Kellina Yarrish. "With havingno subs, they really fought the best they were campable of doing until the end."
In the first half, senior forward
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) got of one shot for the Falcons as she would lead the offensive attack all game. Sophomore goalkeeper
Andi Dargis (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) collected four saves, but Cedar Crest would head into half down, 5-0.
Inthe second half,
Rodenberger got four more chances for the Black and Gold but was ultimately saved or missed just wide.
Dargis earned 10 more saves in the period, but the team couldn't hold off the offense and fell with a final score of 10-0.
The Falcons get back to the field on Wednesday, September 16 with a short trip to Bethlehem, Pa. to face fellow Lehigh Valley institution, Moravian College at 4:00 p.m.
