ALLENTOWN, Pa. ---- The Cedar Crest College basketball team returned to Lees Gymnasium after five games on the road. The Falcons faced off against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Cabrini College in a 72-39 loss.
The Falcons came out with a fiery start and took the first two points of the game. Freshman guard
Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) hit a three pointer to put the team back in the lead 5-2. Freshman guard/forward
Rianna Kinard (Clinton, MD/Surrattsville High) made a layup as
Stewart followed up with another three, but with 49 seconds in the quarter Cabrini took the lead which the Falcons never recovered from.
Stewart finished the game with 18 points, going 4-for-4 from the free throw line, two rebounds, and one assist while
Kinard totaled 10 points, six rebounds and two assists. Junior
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) added eight points, three assists, six rebounds and a steal. Sophomore
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) led in rebounds with nine, three points and one steal while freshman
Katherina Pierre (Middletown, NY /John S. Burke Catholic) had seven rebounds. Senior forward
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere) had four rebounds and one assist on the night.
The next game for the Falcons is on Wednesday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. as they face Centenary College (N.J.) in a Colonial State Athletic Conference game in Lees Gymnasium.
