Box Score ASTON, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College soccer team traveled to the Knights of Neumann University for a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up that went into double overtime as both team went scoreless ending the match in a 0-0 tie on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School) got the start in goal for the Falcons this game facing 28 shots she recorded 11 saves while two shots were blocked by fellow teammates.
Maddock made eight saves in the regulation, made two in the first overtime with one her making a punching save sending one shot over the net and the final save happening in the second overtime to earn the tie.
A valiant defensive team effort held the Knights offensive attack scoreless the Falcons offensve would get three shots themselves. Junior forward
Kari Vanderslice (Clementon, NJ/Highland Regional) got the first shot for the Falcons in the first half overtime taking the shot in the 92nd minute of play that was saved by the goalkeeper. Junior midfielder
Tara Irvin (Chalfont, Pa. /Central Bucks) got two shots off in the final minutes of the second overtime both missing just wide of the goal.
The next match for the soccer team is on Saturday, October 15 with a start time slated for 1:00 p.m. as they welcome Cairn University for the teams Senior Day.
