Box Score HACKETTSTOWN, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College soccer team traveled to Centenary University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up where the team fell, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cyclones took an early lead with a goal the seventh minute of play as the Falcons only got two shots off in the first period. The first shot was by junior forward
Kari Vanderslice (Clementon, NJ/Highland Regional) that the goalkeeper saved. A few minutes later senior midfielder
Allison Rittle (Fredericksburg, PA/Northern Lebanon) just missed the target as her shot went wide. The home team had a 2-0 lead as the teams headed into halftime.
In the second half
Vanderslice had her next attempt to get the Black and Yellow on the scoreboard, but this shot was blocked. Freshman goalkeeper
Cara Montanye (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush Central ) had 10 saves in the match.
The next game for Cedar Crest is on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. as the team travels to Clarks Summit University in CSAC play.
