Box Score ALLENTOWN, P.a. – The Cedar Crest College basketball team was defeated 74-57 by non-conference Bryn Mawr Owls on Monday evening in Lees Hall.
In the first quarter, Cedar Crest matched up well with the visiting team even holding the lead before falling behind by four points as the lead extended to 20-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Owls held the Falcons in the second quarter, but not without a fight, cutting a 12 point lead to six, but the visitors went back up making the score 39-27 going into halftime. Cedar Crest came out strong and won the third quarter, scoring 20 points to Bryn Mawr's 17, to trail by nine points heading into the final quarter. With multiple Falcons in foul trouble Bryn Mawr extended the lead for the win with a final score of 74-57.
Senior point guard,
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) had a career high of 28 points,
Osley also tallied three assists, eight rebounds and one block on the night. Sophomore guard
Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) netted 10 points, brought down four rebounds and had one steal while junior
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding), a forward, put up six points and on the board for the Falcons she had eight rebounds, two assists, 2 blocks and four steals.
Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey), a freshman guard, tallied four points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal on the night.
The Falcons take the court at home again on February 1 to take on Colonial States Athletic Conference foe, Centenary College. The game is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
