Box Score HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.--- The Falcons went head-to-head with undefeated Centenary University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up. Cedar Crest kept a tight game matching point for point before the host school took a lead winning 56-39.
Freshman guard
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) took the lead and would tie the game early in the first quarter while freshman guard
Alissa DiGuglielmo (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) knocked a three pointer to take regain the lead with six minutes left in the quarter. Three minutes would pass before a basket was made for the home team, senior guard
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would score next with a big three to take back the lead. A three point play had the Black and Yellow trailing by one at the end of quarter.
The battle for points continued into the second quarter as
DiGuglielmo scored her fifth point of the game for a 14-13 lead. Tough defense allowed three minutes to elapse before the lead changed hands for the final time of the quarter with just over six minutes left to play. The team kept close as the Falcons entered halftime trailing 21-26.
Centenary would extend the lead in the third quarter, but
Cabrera brought back within a five point difference with 3:41 in the quarter though it wasn't enough as they trailed by nine at the end of the quarter.
Osley knocked down a three to bring the deficit back down to eight, but the team fell 56-39.
Next up the Falcons head to Cabrini University for another CSAC game starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7.
