10/18/2017 5:30:00 PM

Box Score LA PLUME, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College soccer team traveled to Keystone College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up Wednesday afternoon, the Falcons failed to match their competitor and fell, 3-1.

"Honestly, we played great soccer today," stated Head Coach Sarah Wolcott. "We possessed the ball well and worked together for 90 minutes. This was a fun game to watch…it was just beautiful soccer all the way around. Unfortunately, we just couldn't find the back of the net enough. Hats off to Keystone, because they finished their chances."

Cedar Crest had the first two shots of the game, freshman forward Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) looked to take the lead early with back-to-back shots in the eighth minute as both shots missed wide of the target. Senior forward Caitlyn Mann (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) had the next shot for the team, this one on target, but the goalkeeper made the save. Senior midfielder Katia Olsen (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) had the Falcons next attempt, again the keeper came up with the save. Sophomore defender Kimberly Rosano (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) looked to convert a foul into a goal, but against her best effort the goalkeeper made another save. As the teams closed in on halftime, the home team chanced a difficult shot, taking an odd angle move junior goalkeeper Morgan Maddock off her line, getting a piece of the shot, but it pinched into the near post as the Falcons trailed, 1-0, at halftime.

Keystone came out with two quick shots to start the second half, the first was blocked the second was saved by sophomore Cara Montanye (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush Central ). The Giants extended their lead just the 50th minute, and after two more shots from Warner that went wide, jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Falcons got the board after a Keystone penalty, Rosano took the kick finding Olsen who then passed it off to Warner who had a one touch shot to get the team on the scoreboard. The Falcons had eight more attempts with only two on target, ultimately ending the match, 3-1.

Next up, the Falcons return home for Senior Day at the FalconPlex as they kick-off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 as they face Notre Dame of Maryland in a CSAC match.
