Falcons Drop Match Against Immacualta

Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. ---The Cedar Crest College soccer team welcomed Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Immaculata University to the FalconPlex on Tuesday afternoon where the Falcons fell, 5-0.

The Mighty Macs took an early lead two minutes into the game, while the Falcons got their first attacking option 14 minutes into the first half with a corner kick taken by senior midfielder/forward Jackalyn Beckett (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt). Eight minutes later Beckett knocked in another corner, this one found the head of sophomore defender Kim Rosano that was blocked. The visiting team extend the lead to 2-0 in the 37th minute. Freshman midfielder Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove ) and Rosano both had opportunities before the half, but both shots were saved.

In the second half, senior midfielder Katia Olsen (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) had her first attempt this shot was saved, but later resulted in a corner kick for the Falcons. Beckett putting the ball in again, found freshman defender Sarah Nawrocki (Minersville, Pa./Minersville) for a shot that went high of the target. The visiting team netted their third goal of the match at 67:18. Freshman defender Kara Brownlie (Southampton, Pa./Abington Friends School) hit a shot that was saved in the 59th minute looking to get the team on the board was saved.  Freshman defender Avery Huston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Techinical) also had attempt but the goalkeeper made the save. Tennis had back-to-back shots that went just wide, while the other was blocked.  The final two goals were marked at the 81st and 87th minute for a final score of 5-0.

Junior goalkeeper Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School) made seven saves in the first half while in the second half sophomore goalkeeper Cara Montanye (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush Central ) also made seven saves.

The next game for Cedar Crest is on Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. against Neumann.
