Box Score NEWARK, N.J.---The Cedar Crest College basketball team began their 2017-18 season under the direction of second year Head Coach Kristin Karat on Friday night at the John K. Adams Tip-off tournament at Rutgers-Newark. The team opened against the hosts as the Scarlet Raider defeated the Black and Yellow, 82-23.

Sophomore point-guard Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) led the way for the Falcons netting 10 points, while grabbing five rebounds and one steal on the night. Freshman guard Dymond Taylor (Newark, DE/Glasgow) managed to bring down a team-high of eight rebounds, while adding two points, two steals and one block. Sophomore forward Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) had five points, one assist and one steal while freshman guard Khanue Robinson had six rebounds, four points and one assist for the Falcons.

The next game for Cedar Crest is on Saturday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. against Penn State Abington.
