Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College basketball finished their road portion of the season with a 70-46 loss against Marywood University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference on Wednesday evening.
Marywood had an early 6-0 lead but the Black and Yellow had a late run with back-to-back possession as scored five unanswered points to cut that lead to 10-9 by the end of the first quarter. Cedar Crest took the lead for the first time at the beginning of the second quarter, but would have to fight back after the home team took a 19-12 lead. A three by senior guard Taylor Osley brought the team back into a four point game, but would trail by seven at the half.
After returning from halftime the Falcons managed to keep within the seven points, but suffered a setback late in the third quarter with players in foul trouble the momentum moved to favor the Pacers who extended their lead to 51-31 by the end of the third. In the final quarter the team was unable to cut the deficit despite being outscored by four points in the quarter.
Osley netted 15 points to lead the Falcons while acquiring three rebounds and five assists. Sophomore guard Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) added 12 points, three rebounds and five assists while freshman guard/forward Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) scored 11 points, had five rebounds and one assist to have three players in double figures on the night.
The next game for the Falcons is on Saturday, February 18 for Senior Day as they host Cairn University in their final Colonial States Athletic Conference game of the season.
