Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College soccer team followed up field hockey as they also hosted Sweet Briar College at the FalconPlex on Saturday afternoon as the Falcons defeated the Vixen 4-0.
"I'm incredibly happy with the result today," stated Head Coach
Sarah Wolcott. "Our players did a great job staying composed and finding feet. We had the right attitude from start to finish. I'm confident with our play going into conference next week."
In the first half, freshman forward
Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove ) took a ball played across the field, touched it inside the 18 for a better angle to finish the ball past the right side of the goal keeper to take the lead 1-0 just 13 minutes into the game. The team had eight other opportunities for shots in the half to extend the lead before half, but came up empty.

Tennis scored her second goal of the day, this time taking advantage of space she took a shot that sailed high from outside the 18 yard line just out of the reach of the goalkeeper. Senior midfielder
Jackalyn Beckett (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) played a ball across the box finding senior midfielder
Kari Vanderslice (Clementon, NJ/Highland Regional) to put the ball in the back of the net for a 3-0 lead. The final goal of the day was by freshman
Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), who took a ball played into her feet, and split the defenders to give herself a breakaway to the goal. One-on-one with the keeper she tucked the shot past her to take 4-0 lead with just over seven minutes left to play.
The next game for the soccer team is Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. as they open their Colonial States Athletic Conference portion of the year against Marywood University.
