Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College soccer team competed in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game against Cabrini University on Tuesday afternoon where the Falcons fell, 3-0.
"I'm happy with the way we played this evening," commented Head Coach
Sarah Wolcott. "Cabrini is always a tough team to face, but we were ready and met them with tenacity. Every single one of our players was checked in, and we made Cabrini earn their win. Like I've said before, soccer is a very unforgiving sport. We made some mistakes, and Cabrini capitalized on them."
In the first half the Black and Yellow got their first shot seven in a half minutes into the game by sophomore forward
Kelsey Kehm (Trappe, Pa./Perkiomen Valley ) that flew just high of the target. Junior, goalkeeper
Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School) helped the team the game scoreless for 26 minutes, making five saves as the visiting team got off eight shots before their first goal.
Maddock made four more save before halftime as the team still trailed 1-0 at halftime.
Cabrini extended the lead to, 2-0, seven minute into the second half. Freshman forward
Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) got a ball played to her feet, took positive touches toward the goal before her shot which the goalkeeper made the save. Seven minutes later
Kehm took her second shot of the match, but again the keeper made the save.
Maddock made another seven saves in the half for a total of 16 on the match.
The next game for the Falcons is on Saturday, September 30 against CSAC opponent Centenary (NJ) at 11:00 a.m. at the FalconPlex.
