Box Score BROOKLYN, NY---The Cedar Crest College soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 12-0 win over non-conference York College (NY) on Sunday afternoon with seven Falcons netting goals.
In the first half the Black and Yellow had 19 shots in the first half, with seven finding the back of the net. Freshman midfielder
Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) netted the first goal 13 minutes into the game off a cross from sophomore forward
Nyla Ngeba. Two minutes later senior forward/midfielder
Kari Vanderslice (Clementon, NJ/Highland Regional) finished on the second goal to the left side of the keeper.
Warner and
Ngeba connected again at 16:23 with a through ball Warner earned her second goal of the day.
Freshman midfielder
Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove ) scored the fourth goal of the first half, dribbling her way through the middle straight to goal.
Negeba earned her third assist of the game finding
Vanderslice who scored her second goal of the match when a cross came into the middle to find her.
Ngeba scored the final two goals of the first half, unassisted, the first was shot from the right side while the second she finished a loose ball.
The Falcons put away five of their 14 shots in the second half. Freshman midfielder
Rebecca Fox (Olean, N.Y./Olean) scored not only her first collegiate goal, but found the back of the net three times within a 10 minute timeframe for a hat-trick. The first was finding the end of a cross from senior back
Caitlyn Mann (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin), next,
Fox finished her second goal just two minutes later, unassisted. The final goal was assisted byÂ
Ngegba, who sent a pass into the box for
Fox to finish.
Sophomore forward
Kelsey Kehm (Trappe, Pa./Perkiomen Valley ) knocked in a goal from the 30 yard line for her first goal of the season. Freshman
Erika D'Angelo (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial ) scored the final goal of the game, the first of her collegiate career in the 87
th minutes.
The next match for Cedar Crest is on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. as the Falcons open their home portion of the season against non-conference John Jay College for the first regular season game under the lights on the FalconPlex.
