All Falcons Contribute in Conference Loss to Notre Dame of Maryland

Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Cedar Crest College women's basketball team suffered a loss to CSAC opponent Notre Dame of Maryland University Saturday afternoon by a score of 80-63 to fall to 2-9 on the year and 1-4 in conference play.

Leading the Falcons in scoring was sophomore guard Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey) (Lancaster, Pa. /J.P. McCaskey), who finished the game with 23 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Weller also finished with seven three-pointers in the game. Sophomore guard Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) (Reading, Pa. /Berks Catholic) also finished in double figures with 13 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Black and Yellow.

Senior center Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ) (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ) contributed nine points, three rebounds and three assists while freshman guard Natasha Barber (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) contributed eight points, six rebounds and two assists. Sophomore forward Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) (Reading, Pa. /Berks Catholic) finished the contest with eight rebounds, six points, a blocked shot and an assist as Khnaue Robinson (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) added eight rebounds, four points and a steal.

The Falcons got on the board first and possessed a five-point lead in the first quarter, 7-2, before the Gators went on a 10-2 run to end the opening quarter 12-9. The second quarter was the difference in this game as Notre Dame scored 30 points in the 10-minute period to the Falcons' 13 points. Cedar Crest went into the locker room trailing by 20 points, 42-22.
Battling hard after the intermission, Cedar Crest put up 22 points in the 3rd quarter with the Gators scoring 25 to increase the lead 67-44. The Falcons outscored Notre Dame in the final 10 minutes of the game, netting 19 points to the Gators 13, before ultimately falling to Notre Dame, 80-63.

Cedar Crest will return home to Lees Hall on Tuesday, January 9 to take on Gwynedd Mercy 7:00 pm start time.
