ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College women's basketball team dropped a CSAC game to Gwynedd Mercy University Tuesday evening by a score of 70-51 to fall to 2-10 on the year and 1-4 in conference play.
The top-scoring Falcon was sophomore guard
Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey) (Lancaster, Pa. /J.P. McCaskey), who finished the game with 15 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Senior center
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ) (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ) contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and a season-high seven blocked shots while Sophomore guard
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) (Reading, Pa. /Berks Catholic) rounds out the double-figure scorers with 12 points, grabbing eight boards, game-high four assists and a steal.

The Falcons got on the board first as
Weller converted a layup, then cut the lead to one (6-5) with a
Weller triple. The Black and Yellow trailed the Griffins at the end of the opening quarter 17-7. The second quarter was well-played by Cedar Crest, as they outscored Gwynedd Mercy 15-14 in the second quarter, but still went into the locker room trailing by nine points, 31-22.
Battling hard after the intermission, Cedar Crest put up 16 points in the 3rd quarter with the Griffins scoring 20 to increase the lead to 51-38. The Falcons were outscored in the final 10 minutes of the game, netting 13 points to the Griffins 19, before ultimately falling to Gwynedd Mercy, 70-51.
Cedar Crest will head to Marywood University on Thursday, January 11 for their second game of the week, slated to begin at 7:00 pm in Scranton.
