Falcons win fourth-straight match and improve to 3-0 in CSAC victory over Keystone

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Tennis program won its fourth-straight match in a 9-0 victory over Keystone College on Tuesday afternoon at the Birchwood Tennis Club. The Falcons improve to 5-4 overall this season and remain undefeated in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play at 3-0.
 
Starting with the doubles flights, Cedar Crest would have third-doubles, Mercedes Melo (Lehighton, Pa./Palmerton Area) and Ashley Wilkin claim the first point of the match with a clean sweep over their opponents (8-0). Chelsea Tito (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) and Andrea Abdale (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast ) of the first-doubles squad earned their point with an (8-5) victory before Maya Narasimhan (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) and Yomari Salvador-Rivera (Reading, Pa./Reading Senior) at second-doubles was able to win their match (8-3) to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead going into singles play.
 
Melo would defeat Keystone's number-one (6-0, 6-2) in the first singles match as Salvador-Rivera also took her point at second-singles with a (6-2, 6-1) victory. Three Falcons, Narasimhan, Abdale and Tito would sweep their matches at third, fourth and fifth singles respectively. At six-singles, Katherine Naples (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire North) would take her match, (6-1, 6-1) and helped Cedar Crest soar past Keystone for the 9-0 victory.
 
The Falcons will return to action on Friday, April 12 when Bryn Athyn College travels to Allentown for a CSAC contest. The match is slated to begin at 3:30 PM on the Falcon Tennis Courts.
