JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team played to a 0-0 stalemate at New Jersey City University on Monday afternoon at McNulty Field.
"Today's match was really hard fought," said Head Coach
Sarah Wolcott. "Playing NJCU on the road is always tough, and our players rose to the challenge. We worked hard for every minute. We kept our composure and responded well to adversity. Although we didn't get the win, this was a total team effort, and I'm happy with the result."

Lauren Makely (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) made six saves in the contest for the shut out. NJCU sophomore Marissa Lotierzo (Maple Shade, N.J.) turned away four shots to pick up her first clean sheet of the season.
The Gothic Knights held a 19-11 advantage on shots in the contest and placed seven on goal. Four of the Falcons' shots were on target. Graduate student
Erika D'Angelo (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) paced Cedar Crest in shots with four while junior Michele Taras (Newark, N.J.) tallied five shots for NJCU, three of which were on goal.
The Gothic Knights also had the advantage in corner kicks in the match, 9-3.
Cedar Crest (1-0-1 overall) will next play at Neumann University on Thursday, September 16 at 4:00 p.m. NJCU (0-0-2 overall) returns to action at Manhattanville College on Saturday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m.
