ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team started Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 2-0 shutout of Keystone College on Saturday afternoon at the FalconPlex on Homecoming Weekend.
Senior
Taylor Wolf (Townsend, Del./Middletown) started the scoring in the 22
nd minute off an assist from Linsey Nestor to put the Falcons in front, 1-0.
The 1-0 margin stood until the 78
th minute on a marker from first-year
Lauren Davis (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley). The goal was once again set up by Nestor.
Cedar Crest dominated the shot category, 27-4, and had four corner kicks to the Giants' zero.
Senior goalkeeper
Lauren Makely (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) picked up the shutout in goal for the Falcons while sophomore Annie Metzger (Chambersburg, Pa.) registered 11 saves in goal for Keystone.
Cedar Crest (4-3-1 overall, 1-0-0 CSAC) begins a three-match road trip on Wednesday, September 28 at Clarks Summit University in a 3:00 p.m. start. Keystone (3-3-0 overall, 0-1-0 CSAC) remains on the road for a conference contest at Saint Elizabeth University on Tuesday, September 27 at 4:00 p.m.
