Soccer Set For United East-Skye Division First Round Matchup at Rosemont Saturday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team will open play in the United East Conference Championship Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will travel to fourth-seeded Rosemont College for a Divisional First Round matchup on Saturday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m.

The Falcons and the Ravens played to a 1-1 draw back on October 14. Junior Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) scored the lone goal for Cedar Crest while sophomore goalkeeper Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) recorded seven saves in the draw.

The Falcons enter the contest with a 4-4-6 overall record and finished United East-Skye Division play with a mark of 4-1-4. Cedar Crest ranked fifth in the United East-Skye Division with 16 points. Rosemont went 6-9-2 overall and 5-2-2 in United East-Skye Division action. The Ravens finished with 17 points, just one point ahead of the Falcons.

Riley leads Cedar Crest with five goals this season, with four coming in the last five matches. Of her five tallies this season, all have come in conference play.

Junior Cassidy Smith (Bowie, Md.) finished the regular season as Rosemont's leading goal-scorer with eight goals and one assist for 17 points.

Junior Kayla Reiter (Emmaus, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) ranks second on the team for the Falcons in goals with three, while classmate Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) has registered a pair of markers.

Bozen has played in all 14 matches in between the pipes for Cedar Crest this season, compiling a 4-4-6 record,  a 0.64 goals against average, and an .896 save percentage. The sophomore has also collected six shutouts and three combined shutouts.

Rosemont is expected to start first-year Emily Rossino (Blackwood, N.J.), who has started all 17 matches for the Ravens this season. She has a record of 6-9-2 on the season, with a 2.29 goals against average and .756 save percentage.

Saturday's United East-Skye Division First Round contest between the Falcons and Ravens will take place at Rosemont's Ravens Athletic Complex. If you are not able to make the trip to see the match in person, live statistics and video will be available at cedarcrestathletics.com.
