LATHAM, N.Y. – Four student-athletes from the Cedar Crest College field hockey team were recognized by the United East Conference in the release of its All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office on Friday morning.
First-year goalkeeper
Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) headlined the honorees by being named as the Rookie of the Year as well as a first-year All-Conference selection. Schrader played in all 19 games, making 14 starts. She tallied a total of 137 saves along with a record of 6-11 with one shutout. Schrader ranked first in the conference in saves, third in goals-against average (2.40), and led the league in saves per game (7.21).
Joining Schrader on the First Team was classmate
Reagan Ferst (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area). The first-year appeared in 18 games, starting in all of them. She tallied 1,124 minutes and tallied four defensive saves, which was tied for second-best in the conference.
Senior
Adriana Hinkle (Palmerton, Pa./Homeschooled (played for Lehighton)) and sophomore
Olivia Horninger (Friedens, Pa./Northern Lehigh) were selected to the Second Team.
Hinkle saw time in all 19 games, making 17 starts. She tallied a team-high 16 points on six goals and four assists. Three of Hinkle's goals were game-winners.
Horninger was also tabbed to the Second Team after the sophomore played in and started 18 games. She registered two assists, one defensive save, and ranked second on the team with 18 shots.
Cedar Crest (6-13 overall) finished the season as the United East Conference runner-up, falling to Keystone College in the championship game, 3-0 on November 4.
