LA PLUME, Pa. – The No. 2 seed Cedar Crest College field hockey team fell to top-seeded Keystone College in the inaugural United East Conference Championship game in a 3-0 final.
The Giants scored in three of the four quarters to capture the title.
Keystone got on the board in the fourth minute when senior Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa.) set up classmate Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina) for the first goal of the game and to put the Giants up, 1-0.
That score held until sophomore Belen Rodriguez (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina) found the back of the cage in the 16
th minute, coming off helpers from junior Gabby Lodato (Union, N.J.) and senior Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina) to push the score to 2-0.
After a scoreless third stanza, Keystone added one more in the fourth as Mainero tacked an insurance tally in the 58
th minute. Mascia and Tomada were credited with the assists on the goal to stretch the score to 3-0, the eventual final.
Senior Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J.) secured the win in the cage for the Giants, making one save in 30 minutes of action. First-year 
Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) registered eight saves in the loss for the Falcons.
Keystone held an 18-2 advantage in the shot category and had 14 penalty corners to Cedar Crest's four. Senior 
Adriana Hinkle (Palmerton, Pa./Homeschooled (played for Lehighton)) and sophomore 
Olivia Horninger (Friedens, Pa./Northern Lehigh) each recorded a shot for the Falcons.
The loss ends the season for Cedar Crest (6-13 overall). With the win, Keystone (11-5 overall) has received the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament. The tournament will be announced on Sunday, November 5 at 10:30 p.m.
