VILLANOVA, Pa. – Senior
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) of the Cedar Crest College basketball team received the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Defensive Player of the Week award, the league office announced on Monday.
Wilson led the Falcons to a 2-1 week in CSAC play totaling a quadruple-double (88 points, 17 steals, 14 rebounds, 11 assists). Against league-champion Notre Dame on Saturday, she had a season-high 35 points on 58% shooting (14-for-24) including 50% on three-pointers (6-for-12), five steals, four assists and two rebounds. To finish the season, Wilson is second in the CSAC in total steals (79) and steals per game (4.2) while leading the CSAC in scoring per game (23.0 points per game). Wilson also finished the season ranked fourth in Division III in points per game.
Cedar Crest ended the season with a 3-16 overall record (3-14 CSAC).
