BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team was defeated by Bryn Mawr College, 204-53 and by Lebanon Valley College, 112-106, on Saturday night at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
In the first event of the meet, the relay team of sophomore
Jessica Keogh (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge), first-year
Ariana Abazi (), junior
Madison Smith (Stockertown, Pa./Nazareth Area), and junior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) took sixth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:57.61.
Reinhart and Keogh were back in the water for the 1000-yard freestyle, placing fourth and fifth with respective times of 16:44.59 and 17:40.96.
Senior
Easton Ferry (Alburtis, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Abazi were the two participants in the 200-yard freestyle. Ferry took seventh (2:46.57) followed by Abazi in eighth (3:06.32).
Smith and Keogh finished five-six in the 100-yard backstroke. Smith touched in 1:31.04 while Keogh finished in 1:52.80.
Sophomore
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:16.75. First-year
Janelle Pratt (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) followed in seventh, touching in 1:29.19.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Heusner finished fifth (28.07 seconds), followed by Reinhard in eighth (36.47 seconds).
Sophomore
Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) paced the Falcons in the 100-yard freestyle, registering a time of 58.36 seconds. Ferry was seventh with a time of 1:14.04.
Smith and Keogh were the Cedar Crest participants in the 200-yard backstroke with Smith finishing fifth (3:20.50) and Keogh in sixth (3:59.40).
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Gil finished second with a time of 2:49.26. Pratt touched sixth, clocking a time of 3:16.37.
Ferry and Abazi took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 500-yard freestyle. Ferry recorded a time of 7:57.41 and Abazi touched in 8:07.47.
Pratt and Smith were five-six in the 100-yard butterfly, recording times of 1:25.63 and 1:38.44, respectively.
In the 200 IM, Gil took third (2:28.27) and Heusner was seventh (2:51.80).
The final event of the afternoon was the 200-yard freestyle relay and the team of Gil, Pratt, Ferry, and Heusner finished fourth with a time of 2:01.28.
Cedar Crest (0-3 overall) will begin Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday, November 2 when the Falcons travel to Gallaudet University to take on the Bison and Marymount University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
