CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Wilson College in a 1-0 double overtime contest in the First Round of the United East Conference Championship Tournament.
Sophomore Annie Smith (Hagertown, Md.) netted the golden goal in the 106
th minute to give the Phoenix the victory.
Wilson held a 26-10 advantage in shots while each team recorded four corner kicks. Senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) led the Falcons with four shots, graduate student
Olivia Kelly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) followed with three, while junior
Lauren Davis (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), senior
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman), and first-year
Lizzy DeNunzio (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) tallied one shot apiece.

Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) made 14 saves in the loss for Cedar Crest. Senior Rebecca Marakovitz (Cinnaminson, N.J.) converted a team-high four saves in the win for the Phoenix.
The loss ends the season for Cedar Crest (5-8-2 overall). Wilson (13-3-2 overall) moves onto the quarterfinal round where they will travel to No. 2 seed Penn College on Saturday, November 2.
