EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team fell to East Stroudsburg University by a 152-78 final score inside Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
In the first event of the day, the team of junior
Madison Smith (Stockertown, Pa./Nazareth Area), sophomore
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), sophomore
Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) and first-year
Janelle Pratt () took first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:13.80.
Junior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) and sophomore
Jessica Keogh (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) went two-three in the 1000-yard freestyle. Reinhart clocked a time of 16:39.40 while Keogh touched in 17:25.82.
The Falcons went three-four in the 200-yard freestyle. Gil took third with a time of 2:11.41 and first-year
Ariana Abazi () took fourth (3:04.93).
Cedar Crest had the second and third finishers in the 50-yard backstroke event. Smith finished second (40.53 seconds) and junior
Caleigh Stoms (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) was third, touching in 45.15 seconds.
The Falcons had two of the top three finishers in the 50-yard breaststroke. Heusner took second with a time of 34.65 seconds and Pratt was third (41.76 seconds).
Gil was the lone participant in the 100-yard butterfly and touched fourth with a time of 1:12.85.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Heusner and Keogh finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 27.70 seconds and 38.98 seconds.
Cedar Crest had the fourth and fifth finishers in the 100-yard freestyle. Reinhart was fourth with her time of 1:23.38, followed by Abazi in fifth (1:26.21).
Smith was the lone participant in the pool for the Falcons in the 100-yard backstroke, placing fourth with a time of 1:28.85.
Heusner and Pratt finished three-four for Cedar Crest in the 100-yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:18.05 and 1:30.61.
The Falcons had three student-athletes in the pool for the 500-yard freestyle. Abazi was third (8:10.86), Reinhart followed in fourth (8:27.66), and then Keogh touched fifth (8:39.40).
Smith was the lone competitor in the pool for Cedar Crest in the 50-yard butterfly, taking second with a time of 42.55 seconds.
In the 200-yard IM, Gil finished second by clocking a time of 2:26.58. Pratt was third (3:06.94).
The final event of the day was 200-yard freestyle relay and the Falcons took first place with the team of Stoms, Abazi, Reinhart, and Keogh with a time of 2:33.78.
Cedar Crest (0-1 overall) will be back in the pool on Saturday, October 26 at Bryn Mawr College to take on the host Owls and Lebanon Valley College at 5:00 p.m.
