ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team suffered a 164-49 loss to Marywood University in an Atlantic East Conference meet at the Rodale Aquatic Center on Saturday.
In the first event of the meet, first-year
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), first-year
Ariana Abazi (Lincoln Park, N.J./Roxbury), sophomore
Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury), and junior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) took second place in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking a time of 2:33.17.
Abazi was back in the pool for the 1000-yard freestyle and finished third with a time of 16:17.44.
Nadasi was the lone participant for the Falcons in the 200-yard freestyle and touched fourth in a time of 3:00.76.
Cedar Crest had a pair of swimmers in the water for the 100-yard backstroke. First-year
Caleigh Stoms (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) finished third (1:42.12), followed by Reinhart in fourth (1:44.56).
Gil took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 1:14.70.
First-year
Katelyn Rice (Stratham, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) was the lone participant for the Falcons in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 41.28 seconds.
Gil won her second event of the day, breaking her own program record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:41.77, beating her previous best time of 2:42.56 from last season.
Reinhart touched third in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 8:02.82.
Nadasi finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly, touching in 1:33.74.
Gil collected her third event win of, placing first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.79.
Cedar Crest (1-7 overall, 1-4 Atlantic East) will have its last tune-up before the Atlantic East Conference Championships on Saturday, January 25 when the Falcons travel Ramapo College to face the host Roadrunners and Widener University in a double dual meet starting at 2:00 p.m.
