ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College soccer team was defeated by Penn College 7-0 in United East Conference play on Sunday afternoon at the FalconPlex in the team's season finale.
The first half began with the Wildcats taking an early lead, as first-year Mikayla Gordon (Slatington, Pa.) scored in the second minute, assisted by senior Olivia Casella (South Williamsport, Pa.) The Falcons conceded two more goals, one by senior Sara Darlington (West Chester, Pa.) in the 17th minute and another by senior Sara Pecchia (Jersey Shore, Pa.) in the 22nd minute, leaving them trailing 3-0 at the end of the half.
Penn College found the back of the net four more times in the second half in the 7-0 final.

Laila Stevenson (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) led the team in offensive attempts with three shots, two of which were on target. First-year
Amiyah Carroll (Severn, Md./Old Mill Senior) contributed the one other shot for the Falcons.
Senior Morgan Solano (Shavertown, Pa.) earned a shutout with two saves in the win for the Wildcats.
The loss ends the season for Cedar Crest (3-11 overall, 2-5 United East). Penn College (14-2-2 overall, 7-1-0 United East) has claimed the No. 3 for the upcoming United East Conference Championship Tournament and awaits its quarterfinal matchup.
