BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College swimming team put forth a strong showing against Moravian University on Saturday in a 129-87 loss. Junior
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) led the charge with victories in the 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle, contributing significantly to the team's competitive performance.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of first-year
Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen), junior
Krillhe Gonell (Bronx, N.Y./George Washington), sophomore
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), and first-year
Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) took second with a time of 5:56.20.
First-year
Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande) and senior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) finished two-three in the 1000-yard freestyle, registering times of 14:53.69 and 15:27.13, respectively.
Nadasi was the lone Falcon in the 200-yard freestyle, touching second in a time of 2:40.27.
Cohen and Aragon clocked times of 39.92 and 40.75 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke.
Heusner finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 34.41 seconds. Gonell followed in fourth (47.87 seconds).
Nadasi touched second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:26.96).
In the 50-yard freestyle, Fernandez finished second with a time of 30.84 seconds. Gonell took fifth (41.84 seconds).
Heusner won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.83. Cohen was fifth in the event (1:21.45).
Aragon and Cohen were back in the pool for the 100-yard backstroke. Aragon touched third in 1:28.89 while Cohen followed in fourth (1:37.98).
Heusner claimed another event win, this time in the 100-yard breaststroke, registering a time of 1:15.53.
Reinhart swam a time of 7:38.23 in the 500-yard freestyle.
In the 50-yard butterfly, Fernandez took second in a time of 35.70 seconds.
The Falcons finished the meet strong with a first-place victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Aragon, Nadasi, Heusner, and Fernandez recording a time of 4:27.86.
Cedar Crest (0-3 overall) will next host Immaculata University and Gallaudet University in an Atlantic East Conference double dual meet on Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m.
