ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Matthew Kieber-Emmons has been named as the new Faculty Athletic Representative for the Cedar Crest College Athletic Department.

"I'm thrilled to step into the Faculty Athletic Representative role and help strengthen the student-athlete experience at Cedar Crest," said Kieber-Emmons. "Our athletes set ambitious goals in the classroom and in competition, and I look forward to supporting them as they work to achieve excellence in both areas."

Kieber-Emmons, an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Cedar Crest, brings great energy and a fresh perspective to our department. A proud sports dad with three kids in club soccer and two daughters in gymnastics, he's no stranger to a busy schedule. His enthusiasm for athletics is clear and he's already showing his Falcon spirit.

In addition to his enthusiasm for athletics, Kieber-Emmons brings an impressive academic background. His research focuses on bioinorganic chemistry and bioinspired catalysis. He is an alumnus of Saint Joseph's University, the University of Delaware, and Stanford University. His ORCID record lists him in the Chemical, Physical, and Forensic Science roles at Cedar Crest.

A Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) is a faculty member at an NCAA member institution who serves as a liaison between the faculty and the athletics department, ensuring a balance between academics and athletics. Their responsibilities include advocating for student-athlete welfare, overseeing academic integrity, ensuring compliance with rules, and managing institutional involvement in NCAA governance.
