SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team remains in sixth place after the second day of the Electric City Invitational on Saturday at Marywood University. The Falcons have collected 152 points over the past two days.
Session two began with the 500-yard freestyle and first-year
Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande) and senior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) swam times of 6:52.60 and 7:21.02, respectively.
First-year
Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) finished tenth in the 200-yard IM and clocked a time of 3:05.08.
Junior
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) had a standout performance in the 50-yard freestyle, placing fourth with a time of 26.72 seconds. Sophomore
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) touched in 29.77 seconds, and first-year
Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) registered a time of 33.76 seconds. Fernandez recorded a time of 30.92 seconds.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of Aragon, Heusner, Nadasi, and Fernandez touched 10
th (5:09.16).
Session three started with Fernandez taking third place in the 400-yard IM with a time of 6:35.60.
Nadasi was the lone Falcon in the pool for the 100-yard butterfly (1:18.22).
Aragon and Reinhart were the Cedar Crest representatives in the 200-yard freestyle, registering respective times of 2:27.57 and 2:49.78.
Heusner recorded a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:13.09.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Cohen finished in 1:24.22.
Aragon, Fernandez, Nadasi, and Heusner recorded a time of 10:14.28 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Cedar Crest will conclude the Electric City Invitational on Sunday, November 23 starting at 10:00 a.m.
