SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team finished in sixth place at the Electric City Invitational on Sunday at Marywood University. The Falcons finished the three-day event with a total of 202 points.
The day began with the 200-yard backstroke and first-year
Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) swam a time of 3:21:83.
In the 100-yard freestyle, first-year
Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) and senior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) swam times of 1:11:88 and 1:19:75, respectively.
Junior
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) had a remarkable performance in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing fourth with a time of 2:45:11.
Sophomore
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) was the lone Falcon in the water for the 200-yard butterfly, placing sixth with a time of 3:14:63.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay first-year
Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande), Fernandez, Nadasi, and Heusner recorded a time of 4:27:86.
Cedar Crest will now have an extended break and will return to action on Saturday, January 10 away against Marywood University and St. Mary's College of Maryland beginning at 1:00 p.m.
