Swimming Splits Double Dual Meet With Immaculata and Gallaudet on Senior Day

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team split a pair of decisions in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Rodale Aquatic Center on Senior Day, losing to Immaculata University, 125-83, and defeating Gallaudet University, 127-53.

Prior to the meet, the program honored its lone senior Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) in a special ceremony.

The Falcons began the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as first-year Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande), junior Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), sophomore Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), and first-year Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) swam a time of 2:18:06.

In the 1650-yard freestyle, Reinhart clocked a time of 26:05.91, touching fourth.

Cedar Crest had two in the water for the 200-yard freestyle with Aragon taking second (2:26.34) and Fernandez following in fifth (2:43.51).

In the 100-yard backstroke, first-year Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) led the way for the Falcons, finishing third in a time of 1:27.79. Reinhart was sixth in the event (1:47.30).

Heusner won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.79. Junior Krillhe Gonell (Bronx, N.Y./George Washington) took fourth, clocking a time of 1:46.03.

Nadasi was the lone swimmer in the pool for the 200-yard butterfly and touched in 3:10.22.

Heusner paced the Falcons in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 27.88 seconds. Aragon followed closely behind in 30.19 seconds.

Cedar Crest went four-five in the 100-yard freestyle with Fernandez swimming a time of 1:08.95 and Reinhart in 1:21.24.

Cohen was the only Falcon in the water for the 200-yard backstroke recording a time of 3:12.48.

Heusner won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:48.79. Gonell followed in third (3:54.19).

Aragon took second in the 500-yard freestyle, registering a time of 6:51.37.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Nadasi finished third in 1:22.35 while Gonell was fifth (1:55.87).

Fernandez guided Cedar Crest in the 400-yard IM, registering a second-place finish in 6:42.89.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Gonell, Reinhart, Cohen, and Nadasi took second in a time of 2:19.55.

Cedar Crest (1-4 overall, 1-2 Atlantic East) next travels to John Jay College for a meet on Thursday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m.
