Corinne O'Connor (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) doubled up sophomore Ashley Mendoza Tarazona (Carteret, N.J.) and sophomore Delali Doe (Hamilton, N.J.), 6-3. Sophomore
Grace Huff (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) and senior
Grace Nieman (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) partnered up for a 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot, getting by first-years Gulnora Kuchkorova (Brick, N.J.) and Eve Hunter (Morris Plains, N.J.). Sophomore
Cam Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) and senior
Gracelynn Pauley (New Oxford, Pa./South Western) were defeated by sophomores Gigi Gutierrez (West New York, N.Y.) and Emily Lari (North Bergen, N.J.) at third doubles, 6-1.
In singles play, Mendoza-Tarazona got by Barnard in a third set super-tiebreaker (6-2, 3-6, 10-5) at first singles. Nieman registered a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Kuchkorova at the No. 2 slot. O'Connor was taken down by Hunter at third singles (6-0, 6-0). Gutierrez beat Huff at No. 4, 6-4 and 6-2. Lari topped Beverage by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores at fifth singles. Sophomore
Aleice Cherry (Raleigh, N.C./Oscar Smith) was defeated by Doe at sixth singles (6-0, 6-0).
This match marked the end of the for Cedar Crest (2-9 overall, 2-6 United East). Kean (9-3 overall) will face The College of New Jersey in the NJAC Tournament on Wednesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. for its next match.
