Swimming Opens Season With Loss to Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team opened the 2025-26 season with a 196-45 loss to Marymount University in an Atlantic East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Lee Center Pool.

The team of first-year Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande), junior Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), first-year Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen), and sophomore Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) took second in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking a time of 2:24.10.

Fernandez and Krillhe Gonell Cruz () competed in the 100-yard IM, touching third and fourth respectively. Fernandez registered a time of 1:31.60 while Gonell Cruz touched in 1:37.73.

Aragon was the lone Falcon in the pool for the 200-yard freestyle, finishing fourth (2:48.15).

Senior Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:45.21.

Heusner and Gonell Cruz went three-four in the 100-yard breaststroke, with respective times of 1:15.81 and 1:50.91.

Nadasi finished third in the 50-yard butterfly, registering a time of 37.52 seconds.

First-year Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) and sophomore Brooke Arnold (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) went four-five in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 34.06 and 42.08, respectively.

Aragon was the only participant for Cedar Crest in the 100-yard freestyle, touching fourth (1:15.39).

Cohen was back in the pool for the 50-yard backstroke, collecting a time of 42.40 seconds.

Heusner and Arnold finished three-four in the 50-yard breaststroke, with times of 35.48 and 52.66 seconds, respectively.

Reinhart was the only Falcon in the water for the 500-yard freestyle, placing fourth (8:04.55).

Nadasi took third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:27.73.

Fernandez clocked a time of 3:10.24 in the 200-yard IM, which place her third.

In the final event of the day, Gonell Cruz, Arnold, Cohen, and Reinhart finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:33.13).

Cedar Crest (0-1 overall, 0-1 Atlantic East) will next participate in the Susquehanna Relay Invite on Friday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m.
